Jim Nazium is walking from lunch to his autoshop class. He exits the lunchroom and walks 62 m west. He then turns and walks 52 m north down the hallway leading to the
workshop. Determine the magnitude and direction of Jim's resultant displacement.
Hint: On your scratch paper, draw a diagram of your vectors. Use tip to tail method.
Draw a dotted line from where he started to where he finishes to make a triangle. Use
the Pythagorean theorem to solve and figure out the magnitude. To solve for the
direction, use the appropriate trig function.
