1. A baseball is hit horizontally. It leaves the bat with a speed of 80.0 m/s. The batter hit the ball at a height of 2.00 m above the ground. What distance does it travel before it hits the ground?
2. A projectile is launched with a velocity of 100.0 m/s at an angle of 35.0 degrees above the horizontal. What is its range?
3. A golfer is teeing off on a long par 3 hole. The ball leaves with a velocity of 32.0 m/s at 50.0° to the horizontal. Assuming that she hits the ball on a direct path to the hole, what is the range of the golf ball? If the hole is 150.0 m from the tee, how far from the hole will the ball land?

Moon effect. some people believe that the moon controls their activities. if the moon moves from being directly on the opposite side of earth from you to being directly overhead, by what percentage does (a) the moon's gravitational pull on you increase and (b) your weight (as measured on a scale) decrease? assume that the earth–moon (center-to-center) distance is 3.82 × 10^8 m, earth's radius is 6.37 × 10^6 m, moon's mass is 7.36 × 10^22 kg, and earth's mass is 5.98 × 10^24 kg.
