Newton's laws allow us to find what happens to the stone when it is released into space

Let us apply these laws to the case of throwing a stone in space:

When the stone is in space and left the hand there is no net force on it, therefore it must continue with constant speed in a straight line

When it is still being released, according to the third law or of action and reaction, the hand exerts a force on the stone and the stone exerts a reaction on the most of equal magnitude, but in the opposite direction. Consequently, the astronaut also acquires a lower speed by having a much greater mass in the opposite direction of the stone.

In conclusion, using Newton's laws we can find out what happens to the stone when it is released into space.
