What are examples of Electrical Potential Energy

Lightning is probably the most flamboyant example that we are familiar with in our normal lives.

Lightning results from a negative charge in the bottoms of clouds and a positive charge on the surface. When the potential energy becomes great enough to overcome the insulation caused by the atmosphere, it jumps the gap.
