Yes because the broken glass could have blood on it or be in a pool of blood. On the other hand, the broken glass could have scratches or a painted picture on it.  Who´s DNA is on the glass or who´s fingerprint is on the glass. I´m not sure what their possible class could be but they can help in the investigation by finding the person who committed the crime.
