Consider a 50-turn circular loop with a radius of 1.55 cm in a 0.35-T magnetic field. This coil is going to be used in a galvanometer that reads 45 μA for a full-scale deflection. Such devices use spiral springs which obey an angular form of Hooke's law, where the restoring torque is: τs = -κ θ.

Here κ is the torque constant and θ is the angular displacement, in radians, of the spiral spring from equilibrium, where the magnetic field and the normal to the loop are parallel.

Required:
a. Calculate the maximum torque, in newton meters, on the loop when the full-scale current flows in it.
b. What is the torque constant of the spring, in newton meters per radian, that must be used in this device?

Mass (kg) force (n) 5 25 10 50 15 75 20 100 a student was trying to find the relationship between mass and force. he placed four different masses on a table and pulled them using a spring scale. the table shows the different masses used in the experiment and the force required to pull each mass. the student concluded that more force was required to pull heavier objects. what comment would you make regarding his conclusion? a) no clear relation can be observed between mass and force from the data. b) there is a direct proportion between the mass and force listed in the table. c) gravity should have been taken into account while performing the experiment. d) there is an inverse proportion between the mass and force listed in the table.

Asolid cylinder and a cylindrical shell have the same mass, same radius, and turn on frictionless, horizontal axles. the cylindrical shell has light-weight spokes connecting the shell to the axle. a rope is wrapped around each cylinder and tied to blocks of equal masses that are held the same height above the ground. both blocks are released simultaneously. the ropes do not slip. which block hits the ground first? or is it a tie?
