Science and the scientific method are continually ongoing process because when new observations are discoveries are made which do do fit into the pattern of accepted scientific knowledge, the previously accepted knowledge must be tested once more for accuracy.

Observation involves paying attention to a particular phenomena around us and then asking questions.

Hypothesis refers to intelligent guesses based on the observed events

Prediction involves predicting phenomena based on the hypothesis made.

Hypothesis testing involves careful design of experiments to test the validity of the hypothesis made.

The results of the experiments are then analyzed and evaluated in the light of the original hypothesis.

Conclusions are then made to either, accept, reject or modify the hypothesis based on the results of the experiments.

During the course of these processes, new observations can be made which are not in agreement with previous accepted knowledge, therefore, new hypothesis and experiments must be made. Also, with advancement in technology, new insights are gotten from experiments  and observations which previously was not available, all these contribute to ensuring that science and the scientific method are a continually ongoing process.
