A boy of mass 40 kg is on one end of a boat (mass 400 kg, length d). There is a turtle sun-bathing on a rock near the other end of the boat, d-x away from the boy. The boy starts to walk towards the other end of the boat in oder to reach the turtle. As he does so, the boat glides backward due to the absence of external friction from the water. If the boat is too light, it'll glide backward so much that the boy won't be able to reach the turtle even as he reaches the other end of the boat.

a. Neglecting any friction, where is the boy relative to the dock when she reaches the far end of the canoe?
b. Will she reach the turtle (assuming she can reach 1 m outside the canoe)?
