Astronauts in orbit feel the weightless sensation, but this feels is temporary. It's the same feels you will experience on the roller coaster ride or when you are in the elevator which moving down. You can get weightlessness when you are falling.  

Because the space station, astronauts, and everything else inside is falling at the same rate or speed so they feel weightless and you never actually hit the ground. The astronauts actually falling not floating. This would be the same in an elevator that was in free fall on earth.

Some people said that the weightless because there is no gravity in outer space. In fact, there is gravity. The gravitational force in orbit is 89% as large as on the surface. This gravity holds the moon in the orbit and keeps the earth in orbit about the Sun. Gravitational force is an interaction between objects that have mass, in this case, the Earth and the astronauts have mass.
