An object of mass m and speed vo strikes a rigid uniform rod of length l and mass mr that is hanging by a frictionless pivot from the ceiling. Immediately after striking the rod, the object continues forward but its speed decreases to vo/2. The moment of inertia of the rod about its center of mass is ML2/12 . You may express your answer in terms of m, mr, g and l. Answer all the following in terms of the given quantities and any physical constants.(Submit a file with a maximum size of 1 MB.)a. For what value of vo will the rod just touch the ceiling on its first swing?b. For what ratio of mr/m will the collision be elastic?
