The monochromatic light of the wavelength 700 nm is shined at the surface of the unknown material.
The thickness of the material is h = 1 cm, and the light leaves the material displaced by a = 2 mm in the
horizontal direction (distance between the horizontal positions when it enters and leaves the material)

a) If the angle of reflection (measured from the normal) for the incident light is θi = 45◦ what is the angle (also measured from the normal) of the reflected light θr?

b) What is the refraction index of the material?

c) If you now put the light source in the material what would be the minimum angle θc for which the total reflection occurs?

Assume you measured the mass of the cart to be (500 ± 1) g and the mass of the additional mass you put on the cart to be (500 ± 1) g as well. since the scale you are using in the lab cannot measure objects heavier than 600g you will have to sum up individual pieces and propagate the error. so what would be the mass and the standard error of the cart and the mass

Ahair dryer is basically a duct in which a few layers of electric resistors are placed. a small fan pulls the air in and forces it through the resistors where it is heated. air enters a 1200 w hair dryer at 100 kpa and 22°c and leaves at 47°c. the cross-sectional area of the hair dryer at the exit is 60 cm2. neglecting the power consumed by the fan and the heat losses through the walls of the hair dryer, determine (a) the volume flow rate of air at the inlet and (b) the velocity of the air at the exit.
