The grounded conductor of a branch circuit is permitted to serve as the equipment grounding conductor for a replacement electric dryer when all the following conditions are met, except for

a. the grounded conductor is insulated, unless it is part of type se cable
b. the branch circuit is protected by time-delay fuses
c. the grounded conductor is not smaller than 10 awg copper or 8 awg aluminum
d. the individual branch circuit is existing
