Balloon is filled with air and initially occupies a volume of 10 cm3 at a pressure of 150 kpa and temperature of 20o c. the balloon is then moved to warmer environment of 40o c and comes into thermal equilibrium with a final volume of 10.5 cm3 . assuming ideal gas behavior and a polytropic process for the air (pvn = constant) then determine the: a) work done by the air (j), b) heat transfer to the air (j).

When a vertical beam of light passes through a transparent medium, the rate at which its intensity i decreases is proportional to i(t), where t represents the thickness of the medium (in feet). in clear seawater, the intensity 3 feet below the surface is 25% of the initial intensity i0 of the incident beam. what is the intensity of the beam "10" feet below the surface? (give your answer in terms of i0. round any constants or coefficients to five decimal places.)

Assume you measured the mass of the cart to be (500 ± 1) g and the mass of the additional mass you put on the cart to be (500 ± 1) g as well. since the scale you are using in the lab cannot measure objects heavier than 600g you will have to sum up individual pieces and propagate the error. so what would be the mass and the standard error of the cart and the mass
