congratulations! you just got a job! it pays $15.75 an hour. you will finally have money to save up for that special item you always wanted. how many hours will you have to work to save up for it?

a. pick a job title and an item to purchase, then look up how much it might cost. then determine the hours you will have to work making $15.75 an hour to be able to purchase the item. (don’t worry about taking out taxes or saving for retirement. you’re too young for that now.) post your information to the discussion board.
b. respond to two other students’ posts and give them a raise! be generous. they’re working hard! let each student know what their new hourly wage is (be sure to include a decimal, for example $16.28) and ask them to figure out how many hours it will take before they can purchase their item at the new wage.
c. respond to two replies to your post and figure out how many hours it will take to purchase your item at your new wage.

At 20∘c, the hole in an aluminum ring is 2.800 cm in diameter. you need to slip this ring over a steel shaft that has a room-temperature diameter of 2.804 cm . 1. to what common temperature should the ring and the shaft be heated so that the ring will just fit onto the shaft? coefficients of linear thermal expansion of steel and aluminum are 12×10−6 k−1 and23×10−6 k−1 respectively.

An astronaut in space cannot use a scale or balance to weigh objects because there is no gravity. but she does have devices to measure distance and time accurately. she knows her own mass is 77.4 kg , but she is unsure of the mass of a large gas canister in the airless rocket. when this canister is approaching her at 3.50 m/s , she pushes against it, which slows it down to 1.30 m/s (but does not reverse it) and gives her a speed of 2.60 m/s . what is the mass of the canister?
