The kryptonian general zod is cruising in a horizontal line starting at a constant speed
of 20 m/s and start to break with a -1 m/s2 acceleration after seeing clark kent as shown
in the graph below. clark is 100 meters below on the ground and locates 300 meters
away from him when zod first saw him. he flies up at 60° from the horizontal direction.
(a) how fast should he take off so that he can intercept general zod in the air if he travels
at constant speed along a straight line. (b) how long does it take kent to catch the flying
vehicle?
note: of cause neither general zod nor the superman needs to worry about gravity or air
resistance. therefore we assume both of them are moving along straight lines.
