Alocal 1 mhz am radio station from davis wants to broadcast 24 hours a day of the hit show "cow talk" to cities west of davis (vacaville, dixon, suisun, however, they do not want to waste power broadcasting to sacramento because people there aren't into cows. assume that the radio station is using two 3 m tall towers. but reflections from the ground cause the towers to appear 6 m tall electrically. also assume that the current is uniform along each tower length. (a) show that the two towers should be separated by 75 m and be driven 90° out of phase to produce a pattern (called a cardioid) with a single null to the east. (b) should the eastem dipole lead or lag?

Air is contained in a variable-load piston-cylinder device equipped with a paddle wheel. initially, air is at 400 kpa and 17°c. the paddle wheel is now turned by an external electric motor until 75 kj/kg of work has been transferred to air. during this process, heat is transferred to maintain a constant air temperature while allowing the gas volume to triple. calculate the required amount of heat transfer in kj/kg.

Atank has a shape of a cone with a radius at the top of 2 m and a height of 5 m. the tank also has a 1 m spout at the top of the tank. the tank is filled with water up to a height of 2 m. find the work needed to pump all the water out the top of the spout. (use 9.8 m/s2 for g and the fact that the density of water is 1000 kg/m3.)
