Due to this balancing force, the satellites and the moon is able to maintain its constant circular motion. If these two forces are not balanced then either the satellites (or moon) will fall back on earth or it will move out of the earth's orbit.

On the other hand, the centrifugal force refers to that apparent force which acts outside of a body that goes around a centre, that generates from the inertia of a body.
