A limiting factor is the factor which negatively affects the growth, abundance and distribution of a species in an ecosystem. A grass being a limiting factor after the wildfire for the growth of bison population in the prairie ecosystem will likely to cause decrease, extinction and migration of the bison from the prairie ecosystem.
