Total resistance = 32 ohms

The total resistance of a series circuit is equal to the sum of individual resistances.

That is;

Rt = R1 + R2 + R3 + R4 + Rn

Where, Rt is the total resistance of the circuit, while R1 , R2, R3 and R4 are the resistance of the components in the circuit and so fourth.

Thus;

Rt = 20Ω + 8Ω + 4Ω

   = 32 Ohms
