Stretching is important prior to physical activity and a few hours after/the next day after. what does stretching accomplish which is important in preventing some injuries? extends muscles and limbs to their full extent. works those muscles now so i can take it easy during my activities and not work as long/as hard. creates pain now instead of later. extends muscles and limbs to their full extent providing increased blood flow and flexibility to prepare for physical activity.
