Pancreas release many enzymes to digest fats, proteins, and carbohydrates.  The pancreas release pancreatic amylase which digests carbohydrates like starch and glycogen into maltose, and dextrins.  

Amylase is secreted by pancreatic acini and transferred from small ducts to large and main pancreatic duct. The pancreatic duct than joins the common bile duct through the papilla of vater which is junction between pancreatic duct and common bile duct.

After combining, common bile duct and pancreatic duct opens into the second part of duodenum through an opening called major duodenal papilla opening and release their secretions in the duodenum portion of small intestine.
