The first thing you have to do is find the slope using the formula y2-y1/x2-x1.

3-(-5)/-1-(-2) or 3+5/-1+2. 
The slope is 8/1 or 8.

After this you choose whatever pair you want to plug into the formula y=mx+b. I'm going to choose the pair 3,-1.

So, -1= 8(3) + b. This simplified becomes -1= 24 + b. You have to subtract 24 from negative 1 to solve for b. -1 - 24 = -25 

This creates the equation y = 8x -25.
