Now find ∠1 by using 29 for x.

2) 

First find the angle that is in the middle of 40° and 50°. Let that angle be y.

40 + 60 + y = 180
100 + y = 180 
y = 80

Now we can see that ∠x has the measure of 40 + y.

40 + 80 = 120°
