What is the lateral and surface area

The lateral area would be the total surface area, minus the top and bottom. In this case, only the bottom will be excluded

Area = 1/2bh x 2 (there are two sides)
Area = 1/2(5x5)(2)
Area = 25m^2

Area = LW x 2 (the longer sides)
Area = 14(5)(2)
Area = 140m^2

Add them together

165m^2 = lateral area

Add the lateral area with the base surface area to get the total surface area

Area = LW
Area = 14(5)
Area = 70m^2

Surface area = 70 + 165
Surface area = 235m^2
