1. if the point (4,3) lies on the line you can compensate the values of the point in the equation then you will have a new equation which will be as shown below:
3(4) - k(3) = 6
  12 -  3 k  = 6 
  12 -   6    = 3 k
           6    = 3 k
           k    = 2
the equation will be:
3 x - 2 y = 6
2. to find whether a point lies on a line or not, just compensate the point in the equation the chick if it gives a correct answer, that means its lies on the line
3 (2) - 2 (-6) = 6
    6  +  12    = 6
             18   don't equal 6 
that's mean that the point doesn't lie on the line
3. the abscissa is zero means that the point lies on the x's coordinate, which means that this point is (0, y)

3 (0) - 2 y = 6
         - 2 y = 6
              y = -3
so the point is (0,-3)
