So width of the window will be (x-6)

Area of the storm = (h )(w)

315 = x(x-6)

315 = - 6x

- 6x - 315 = 0

Factors of the above equation will be

(x - 21)(x +15) = 0

x - 21 = 0 ⇒ x = 21 in

x + 15 = 0 ⇒ x = -15 in
