You already have the multiplication concept down:   the area of a rectangle is base x height, or in other words 8 x 4 = 32.  however, it says "each side of the court is a rectangle" which means there are 2 rectangles. one rectangle thats 8x4 meters on one side, and another that is 8x4 meters on the other. s, you would have to do 32 + 32 = 64.  to use the distributive property, you have to look at the problem like this:   one side of the entire court is 4+4. the other side of the entire court is 8. to use the distributive property, do 8(4+4).  distribute  8 x 4= 32  8 x 4= 32  32 + 32 = 64, your answer.
