How many students chose to participate in the painting class

Within the painting circle we see and 8 who chose to only participate in paining, 3 who chose chorus and painting, 4 who chose theatre and painting, and 2 who chose all 3.

Now we add these so 8 + 4 + 2 + 3 = 17
