Upstream
Speed is ; b-c

Downstream
speed is ; b+c

given:

t u=3
d d=24

(1) 18=(b-c)*3
(2) 24=(b+c)*2
and
(1) 18=3b-3c
(2) 24=2b+c
Multiply both sides of (1) by 2
Multiply both sides of (2) by 3

18=3*9-3c
3c=27-18
