After alighting from the train, he took a lunch break of 30 minutes. He then continued his journey by bus which travelled at 75km/hr. The whole journey took 11.75hours. Determine the distance travelled by bus.

time taken by the train=x
time taken by the bus=y
subtract 30 minutes from the total time taken..hence x+y=10.75
form an equation
x+y=10.75
50x+75y=700
y=6.5
75×6.5=487.5
