convictions and compared the prison terms for the 10 white convicts and 8 black convicts
in the sample. The sentence lengths (in years) are shown in the table below. Using these
data, test the null hypothesis at the .01 a level that white and black defendants convicted
of burglary do not differ in sentence length.
