a) 16-x=x+4

add x to both sides

16=2x+4

subtract 4 from both sides

12=2x

divide both sides by 2

x=6

b) (8-x)-5=2

add 5 to both sides

8-x=7

add x to both sides

8=7+x

subtract 7 from both sides

x=1

c) 4+x=x+4

subtract 4 from both sides

x=x

x belongs to all real numbers.

A) 16-x=x+4

       +x +x

16=2x+4

-4       -4

12=2x

x=6

D)6 (x=6)

B) (8-x)-5=2

8-x-5=2

Combine like terms (8-5)

3-x=2

-3   -3

-1x=-1

--    --

-1     -1

B=1

x-1 so your answer is 1

C) 4+x=4+x

From telling there is going to be no solution but still solve it

4+x=4+x

-4    -4

0+x=x

  -x   -x

0=0x

--   ---

0    0

B is your answer (X=0)
