Mr. Nyce and his children (Abby and Nolan) decide to share a peanut butter & jelly
sandwich. Mr. Nyce takes out some perfectly square bread. He adds the peanut
butter, spreads the jelly, puts the halves together, and then divides the sandwich with
two parallel cuts as seen in the diagram. He always makes these cuts exactly 1 inch
apart (measured perpendicularly of course) because he knows that this will divide the
sandwich into three perfectly equal sections. Find the area of the original piece of
bread.
