The Islamic world is attracting increased attention in Europe and North America. Data were collected in 17 major Islamic nations for each individual man and woman on whether he/she was literate or not. The individuals were at least 15 years old when they were contacted. The data for women in 17 countries are given in the Excel file and expressed as % literacy for that country. Countries with populations less than 3 million were omitted. a) What are the individuals?
b) What is the variable being measured (the response variable), whether it is quantitative or categorical.
c) By hand, make a stemplot to display the data for literacy rates for women. Include a title. This does not need to be on graph paper.
