A new dirt bike valued at $9000 loses 18% of its value each year. A function in the form, y=abx
a = initial price
b= the growth or decay factor
x= the number of times it’s multiplied

Growth factors are “1 + the % it’s growing”. Think about it keeping it’s full value and then adding on value to the original.
Decay Factors are “1 - % it’s decaying”. Think about it losing value over time.

Part A

What is the initial price of the dirt bike?

What is the decay factor for the dirt bike?

Write a function rule that models the value of the dirt bike.

Part B (2 points)

Use the exponential function you wrote in Part A to find the value of the dirt bike after 4 years. Show all work. Round to the nearest penny.
