Investigators at a large drug company are testing a new vaccine for IV-2020, a disease of the brain. They randomly select two large cities, Whoville and Podunk, and randomly select 500 subjects in each one to participate in their study. The subjects in Whoville are given the trial vaccine, while the subjects in Podunk are given a Placebo, and no subject is told what they were given. All the subjects are followed to the end of the 2020 election cycle and it is found that 243 of the Podunk subjects voted against their own self-interest, while only 117 of the Whoville subjects did.
