SHORT ANSWER
Air traffic controllers and pilots need a way to refer to runways that is consistent among different airports.
Runways are named based on the angles they form with due north, measured in a clockwise direction. These angles are called bearings.
The bearing of a runway is divided by 10 to find the runway number.
1. Why is it important use a consistent runway naming scheme?
2. The bearing of an unlabeled runway is 50 degrees and 230 degrees. What are the missing runway numbers?
(Please label your answers with a 1. and 2.)
