a. is simple, just put the terms in order

r² +6r -5

because:

anything to the power of 0 equals 1,

because it's the same as r/r, and 5 * r/r = 5*1

b. same logic as above

a²b² -5ab +33

c.

-c³ +ab +d +9

d.

-9y^5 - 2x³y²z +4x² +10x +1

^5 = to the power of five, it's the fastest way to type it without the special math input tool.

substitute 5/2 in for x:

f(5/2) = -2/3(5/2) + 5

simplify the right side:

f(5/2) = -5/3 + 5

f(5/2) = 10/3
