IF (-20, -39) is a solution to y = 2x + 1 which statement is TRUE. a.
(-20, -39) is solution because

When I graphed the line, y = 2x + 1, the point (-20, -40) lies on that line. In addition, when I plugged in -20 for x and -39 for y and the equation was true!

b.
(-20, -39) is a solution because

there an infinite number of points on a line and ALL points lie on y = 2x + 1.

c.
Don't know what to do!

d.

True. (-20, -39) is NOT a solution.
