They said that each person could wash 50 windows in 1 hour. How long would it take the 3 workers to wash all 1000 windows on one of the skyscrapers?

2. The cab ride back to the airport was about 10 miles. Mr. K paid $35 for the taxi ride. If Mr. K would have liked to take the taxi much farther (let’s say 38 miles to Washington Union Station in Washington D. C.), how much would he expect to pay?

3. If Mr. K learned an average of 3.5 cool new ideas to apply to his teaching in each session, how many cool new ideas did he learn how to do in the whole conference (14 sessions)?

4) CHALLENGE!! A lot of the sessions in Baltimore ran 75 minutes. The periods in middle school run 45 minutes. If Mr. K went to 13 sessions that were 75 minutes long, how many middle school periods is that? During the school days Wed, Thurs, and Fri, when students also were in school, Mr. K attended his sessions. Based on just that amount of time, who sat for a longer time in classes (the students or Mr. K)? Hint: how many periods do students sit through in 3 days?

5) CHALLENGE The flight time to Baltimore was 4 hours and 26 minutes (266 minutes) and the flight time from Baltimore back home was 4 hours and 2 minutes (242 minutes). Why would the flight times be different? At this rate, how long would it take to fly back from Chicago if it takes 148 minutes to fly there?
