Savannah and Josiah read the following problem in their math class: Five rectangular pizzas were shared equally by 4 families. How much pizza did each family receive? Savannah and Josiah solve the problem differently. Savannah gives each family 1 whole pizza and then divides the remaining pizza among the 4 families. Josiah divides all of the pizzas into fourths and then shares the fourths equally among the 4 families. Use Scratchpad to illustrate both students’ solutions.
