If it receives +1, it outputs
  (+1)² - 6 = 1 - 6 = -5
If it receives -1, it outputs
  (-1)² - 6 = 1 - 6 = -5

When working in unison, the two machines provide a one-to-one functionality, because the second machine "corrects" the loss in functionality of the first machine.
