The answer would be B. (2.5, -0.5) 

plug the possibilities in and solve. just because it works for one, it doesn't mean that it will work for both.

3 (2.5) - (-0.5) = 7.5 + 0.5 = 8

(2.5) + (-0.5) = 2.5 - 0.5 = 2
