First you have to simplify both sides of the equation. 

7k−21=3k−5

Then you subtract 3k from both sides.
 7k−21−3k=3k−5−3k                       4k−21=−5

Then you Add 21 to both sides.

4k−21+21=−5+214k=16 

And lastly Divide both sides by

4.4k4=164k=4

Your answer is : k = 4
