A car rental company charges $20 a day for driving 250 miles or less. For any mileage over 250 miles,
the rental company charges an additional 45 cents per mile. Write a piecewise function to represent
how much the rental company will charge based on x miles driven on a given day, Graph the piecewise
function for 0 <=x <=375 miles. Then find how much the rental compants charges for driving 297 miles.
You must include:
- A piecewise functions that models the car rental’s Per day pricing policy, showing all work or explaining your process. Round any decimals to the 10th Place.
- A graph of a piecewise function on a coordinate grid, including axes labeled with units and titles. ( you may hand draw your graph or use a graphing utility to generate one)
- The amount the rental company charges for driving 297 miles, showing all work. Give your answer as dollars and cents.
