Mrs. Martinez spent $15.25 buying candy for the 17 students in her Geometry class. If m&m's cost $0.75 and Snickers
cost $1.00 how many of each did she buy?
1st step identify the variables x=m&m's y=Snickers
2nd Step Write 2 Equations x+y=170.75x+1.00y=15.25
3rd Step Solve the System using method of your choice SHOW ALL WORK
X+y-y=17-y
X=17-y
Substitute 0.75(17-y) +1.00y=15.25
12.75-.75y+1.00y=15.25
12.75+.25y=15.25
-12.75 -12.75
.25y=2.5
Divide by 25 y=10
Substitute x+10-17 x= 7
4th step Give your answer with labels 7 m&m's 10 Snickers
For your benefit write down which problem it sends you to next.
Failure to show all steps will result in points taken off.
You will need to submit your work by taking a picture. You can submit it as a jpg, pdf or a picture file.
And its 5% of my grade and show step by step on piece of paper
