For Heide's wedding, she is making her own centerpieces to save money. She budgets $11.75 for each centerpiece arranged with roses and lilies. Roses cost $1.25 and lilies
cost $0.75. If she wants to have 13 flowers in every piece, write a system of equations
that would help you find how many of each flower she should use. Write each equation
in standard form.

A) 1.25x + 0.75y = 11.75
You cannot use elimination because this is not a system of equations.

B) 1.25x + 0.75y = 11.75
x = 13
You would use substitution here.

C) 1.25x + 0.75y = 11.75
x - y = 13
Multiply the second equation by 1.25.

D) 1.25x + 0.75y = 11.75
x + y = 12
Multiply the second equation by -0.75.
