Based on your work in the spreadsheet, write a function that gives the time to send instructions to the rover on Mars, and then see the result of those instructions back on Earth. As you've seen, the distance from Mars to Earth changed over a year. But each year is different. The distance from Earth to Mars ranges from about 0.376 AU to 2.677 AU. Use the function you wrote to figure out the minimum and maximum signal times at those distances.
Next, comment on ways you think scientists and engineers have to design and communicate with spacecraft and rovers to deal with the delay in signal time.
