Describe a real life multiplication situation for which an estimate makes sense?

There were 3  friends. Each of them bought 6 packs of candy. Each pack had 18 pieces of candy. How much candy did they have in total? . 

3 × 6 = 18

18 × 18 = 324

SO, they had 324 pieces of candy in total.

estimate: 53 rounded is 50 so 50 ×3= 150

real 53×3=159
