Ok so how you do this is replace the variable g as 5 so you reconstruct the equation as

4(5)-12

Now that you have that in the way you must do pemdas so the second way to do this is to start with parenthesis

20-12

Subtract 20 by 12

Therefore your answer is going to be 8
